Face To Face

  • Advantages
    • Access to respondents
    • Survey control
    • Speed
    • Ability to show prompt cards / product samples etc
    • F2f computer aided personal interviewing
      • Eg, randomize order of response options
  • Disadvantages
    • Cost
    • Accuracy of data can be influenced by interaction

Telephone Administered Questionnaires

-          Advantages
o   Cost / speed
o   More anonymous – sensitive questions
-          Disadvantages
o   Not able to show prompts

Self Completion Surveys

-          Can benefit from complete absence of interviewer
-          Paper questionnaires
-          Web self completion
o   Visual medium
